If you are in need of support for an urgent wellness or mental health concern, the following resources are available:

Mental Health Support Services: Specifically designed for trainees who are struggling with personal, professional, or emotional issues and are seeking one-on-one support in a confidential setting. To seek assistance 24/7 call (559) 499-6551.  This line is staffed by Dr. Betty Liao or one of her clinical associates.  Other services that Dr. Liao provides can be found by clicking here.

Wellness Services / Insight:  A third-party organization that is contracted to provide all UCSF Fresno members with referrals to specialized support in a variety of areas (counseling, legal, etc.).  They do not have specific training in dealing with the unique stressors of medical training but are a good resource for those uncomfortable seeking assistance at UCSF Fresno. Click here for information.

Central Valley Suicide Prevention Hotline:  Death by suicide is a real issue amongst trainees, practicing medical providers, and the overall community.  If you or someone you care about is feeling suicidal, a free, confidential hotline is available 24/7, at 1 (888) 506-5991.

SAMHSA National Helpline:  SAMHSA’s National Helpline is a free, confidential, 24/7, 365-day-a-year treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing behavioral and/or substance use disorders.  1-800-662-HELP (4357). Click here for more info
