Surya Vaadyala, DO
Dr. Vaadyala joined the UCSF Fresno Pediatrics team from the Western University of Health Science/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific after completing his medical training in May 2019. He has a B.S. degree in Biology from Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) and likes to volunteer with the local youth. Surya has passion for basketball, reading history books, Indian history and watching Japanese cartoons. Ever since joining the UCSF-Fresno pediatrics residency, he has found it to be an intellectually stimulating experience as well as a great work environment. Having been interested in general pediatrics since medical school, he wanted a program where he could feel like the patients on his continuity panel are truly his, and this clinic encourages residents to manage their patients’ care in every way that a typical general pediatrician does. From refilling medications to ordering labs, and receiving the results of those labs directly, residents are able to see & direct all aspects of their patients’ care. He feels that this particular aspect of giving residents the responsibility of truly acting as their patients’ PCP is one of the many highlights of our program, and one which makes him confident that his training at this program is second to none.
