Why did you choose OBGYN?
Like many OBGYN’s, I was attracted to the field’s unique mix of surgery and primary care. I’m passionate about protecting women’s reproductive rights and increasing access to medical care for the medically disenfranchised. As of yet, I’m am undecided about fellowships but am looking forward to gaining more exposure to sub-specialties this year.
Why do OBGYN at UCSF Fresno?
As a 4th year MFM SUB-I at UCSF-Fresno, I saw firsthand the large volume, acuity and diversity of high-risk OB patients I could expect to care for as a resident. It was clear to me that the program was academically rigorous, well-resourced and supportive of residents. Most encouraging, however, was the sense of collegiality and camaraderie amongst residents, MAs, nurses, midwives and faculty. Of all my rotations, Fresno was where I learned the most and laughed the most.
I grew up in Fresno, Ca and spent my childhood snowboarding, hiking, and boating in Yosemite and the nearby Sierra foothills. I’m an avid tennis player and am stoked about the prospect of playing outdoors year-round again. I enjoy listening to indie rock classics circa the mid-2000s. I also play the piano and am learning guitar. Most often, though, you’ll find me indulging in cheeses of all types and preparations.
