Dr. Thomas-Uribe graduated with her Medical Degree from the Universidad Anahuac Escuela de Medicina in 2012. She received her Master’s in Global Health at Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, GA, and a certificate in Complex Humanitarian Emergencies in partnership with CDC’s Emergency Response and Recovery Branch​. Monika spends her free time participating in half-marathons, triathlons and practicing Brazilian martial arts capoeira; her other hobbies include photography, traveling and reading. Her research has been focused on health disparities and infectious diseases.
