Hobbies, facts and interests
My wife and I met after undergrad and decided to go to medical school together. We couples matched at UCSF-Fresno, she is training in OB-GYN. We had a daughter just before starting medical school, and have another baby on the way! In my spare time I enjoy the the outdoors, especially hiking, backpacking, camping and rock climbing. I also enjoy gardening, bicycle and auto mechanics, home improvement, 3D printing, cooking, and community service.
When I moved away from Fresno some 15 years ago I had no intention of ever returning. I lived in Santa Cruz, then San Francisco, then Berkeley, and then spent about 7 years living in Vermont. I decided to come back to the Central Valley for a number of reasons. I have a lot of family here. The ratio of physician earning potential to cost of living is very high, so you can live very comfortably here. I love the Sierras and the ocean, both of which are very close by. The climate is great for gardening. There is a tremendous need for healthcare providers here. And the city of Fresno has a lot of potential. More and more people are getting priced out of the Bay Area and moving to the valley, and consequently there is a lot of revitalization happening here, especially in the downtown and Tower districts.
