At UCSF Fresno, all residents and fellows in training are also involved in research activities including clinical, translational and population-based research. UCSF Fresno faculty are engaged in research in multiple specialties across all clinical departments. Quality Improvement projects are also underway and both research and Q.I. projects are presented at local, regional and national conferences annually.
Dozens of clinical trials, both industry and government sponsored, are being conducted at UCSF Fresno. Clinical trials provide San Joaquin Valley patients access to cutting-edge therapies for a range of illnesses, including stroke, heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, influenza, Valley Fever, pulmonary hypertension, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cancers of the lungs, blood, lymphatics, breast and bladder, and many other diseases.
