Updated Mandatory Online Training Program Requirement for all Key Research Personnel

The on-line UCSF Human Research Protection Training Program has been replaced with the nationally-recognized and widely-used on-line training program called the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). The CITI program, which will be hosted by UCSF, is now the required training for all UCSF key research personnel participating in human research. Key research personnel include Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, research staff, research volunteers and any other persons who are listed on study applications. Research personnel who have not yet completed online training in the protection of human subjects must do so prior to participating in any research activities. Those who have previously completed online training have until February, 2009 to complete the new training. Certificates are valid for 3 years.

Copies of completion certificates must be forwarded to the Institutional Review Board office –  (jklusener@communitymedical.org)

The CITI Program training website is at https://www.citiprogram.org/

For more information on the new UCSF requirement, go to http://www.research.ucsf.edu/chr/Train/chrTrain.asp, or contact the Institutional Review Board office at 559-499-6553
