The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC)- 685 licensed beds, Level 1 Trauma and not-for-profit community-based hospital was opened in September 2017. The current PICU is a 10-bed medical-surgical unit that provides high-level care for critically ill or injured infants, children and adolescents up to age 21 with a catchment area encompassing Central Valley and Southern California. The PICU at CRMC works closely with nearly every pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty. Medical subspecialties include Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and Genetics-Metabolic, also OFF-SITE consultation with Nephrology, Hematology, Immunology. Surgical subspecialties include General Pediatric Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Burn Team, Pediatric OMFS, Pediatric Dentists, Pediatric Orthopedics and Obstetrics.
