Wellness
UCSF Fresno Internal Medicine believes in supporting our residents’ well-being through a variety of events throughout the year. There is something for everyone!
Holiday Party
Come to our annual holiday party where residents and their families mingle with faculty. Enjoy great food and ambiance, take photos in our photo booth and watch the faculty bust a move!
Birthdays and Life Events
We enjoy celebrating all of life’s events together including birthdays, the welcoming of our residency’s tiniest new members, engagements/weddings, and everything in between!
Staying Active
We also support our residents’ physical health with a state-of-the-art gym. Work out before work, at lunchtime or after work. There are a multitude of free lunchtime classes available as well as self-motivated workouts. Pump up your mind and body!
Do you enjoy sports? Come play intramural basketball or soccer and meet residents outside of the internal medicine department. Weekly games fuel that competitive edge!
Relaxation
Need a break from the rigors of the VA? Try out the high-tech massage chairs! Ease your tension and sink into the ultra-plush depths of a shiatsu, Swedish, or deep tissue massage.
Weekly mindfulness meditation via Headspace and yoga sessions led by a certified yoga instructor. Meditation sessions are led by our UCSF Fresno Wellness Manager via Headspace.
Need a quick nap? Try our respite rooms which are available 24/7 with fresh linens, snacks, coffee and a quiet place to relax.
and more
Need a virtual personal assistant to help with: oil changes, car washes, dry cleaning pickup or any multitude of other chores? We provide concierge service via Errand Solutions so you can focus on the important things!
Hungry? Hot breakfast and lunch provided in the physician lounge as well as coffee and snacks throughout the day. On call? Fear not, funds are available to use at the cafeteria, the Bistro, and Peet’s coffee shop.
Parking is plentiful and free! We also provide reimbursement for ride share if you are too tired to drive home!
Have a family and want to keep them safe from any potential exposures? UCSF Fresno provides alternative housing to protect your loved ones and give you peace of mind.
Just need to talk? UCSF Fresno also provides access for all residents to speak confidentially with our own psychologist, Dr. Betty Liao. We also have a Resident Wellness Hotline: 559-499-6551 or you can contact the on-call psychiatry attending for a confidential one on one talk. Insight Employee Assistance Program is also available as a free, confidential service.
