Enhanced Simulation Training
Clinical Skills Lab
Medical simulation is an integral component of medical education used at UCSF Fresno. Simulation provides a safe environment for students and physicians to learn and practice procedural skills, complex decision-making processes and leadership abilities.
Simulation training takes place in the UCSF Fresno Clinical Skills Lab using realistic, high-fidelity mannequins as actual patients to create real-life learning opportunities through hands-on learning. During these simulations, teams practice responding to common medical procedures, complex medical conditions and life-threatening emergencies. Each simulation is reviewed to ensure best practices are used – leading to the best care for the patients we serve.
Virtual reality is also revolutionizing clinical learning, and philanthropy will allow this to become a core aspect of UCSF Fresno’s program. Just imagine how virtual reality can be used to explore layers of anatomy, and to simulate injuries, clinical cases and surgeries from the inside out. Your gift will help ensure that the lab is equipped with cutting-edge technology to train the next generation of outstanding clinicians and patient advocates.
