Core clerkships are offered to medical students in family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry and surgery. First priority is given to UCSF students; however, visiting students may participate if they meet eligibility criteria and if space permits. Each program offers their own specialties and have their own criteria to meet.
In addition to both core and elective clerkships, UCSF Fresno offers special opportunities for medical students in various inpatient and outpatient clinical rotations, including sub-internships. All allopathic and osteopathic medical students in good standing are welcome to apply. There are several opportunities to get to know and work alongside residents, whether it be at a clinic, in the hospitals or during weeky lecture sessions.
Electives that the UCSF-Fresno Family Medicine program offers to medical students includes:
140.53 Advanced Inpatient FM
140.53 Advanced Inpatient Med D
140.55 Palliative Care
140.69 Migrant Farmworker
