• Qualifications
  Currently enrolled as a junior in high school.
  Must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2008.
  Must have a 3.0 or better grade point average.
  Live within the six county area that includes Fresno, Madera, Merced, Kings, Tulare and Mariposa.
  
  
• Applications require
  One page, typed questionnaire.
  Letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor.
  Copy of recent PSAT or SAT test.
  
  
• Selection and Requirements
  Students are selected on academic merit, their response to a student questionnaire and letters of recommendation from science advisors, counselors and teachers.
  Internships begin in early June 2008 and end August 1, 2008.
  Parental permission is required.
  Students must not be absent more than 5 working days during the 6 - 8 week period.
  The UCSF Fresno Summer Biomedical Research Committee will be responsible for the final selection of the intern and the assignment of that intern to a project.
