RESIDENTS

Why do most of our residents choose the UCSF Fresno program? Residents say they like the smaller size of the residency, which is conducive to a good hands-on education in pediatrics. As a resident, you have the great blend of access to hospital and clinic based, full-time teaching faculty and private practice attendings.
As a resident you function as a primary care physician with a graduated increase in patient care and teaching responsibilities. By the third year, you will assume largely independent patient care responsibility and develop supervisory and teaching skills. With the absence of fellows, our residents have direct contact with their attendings, as well as the opportunity to perform procedures in the clinics, to the wards and in intensive care units themselves.
