Patient Care

The goal of the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program is to improve health in the San Joaquin Valley. As a regional educational and clinical campus of the University of California, San Francisco, UCSF Fresno carries out its training and patient care charge through a network of affiliated partners. Medical residents, fellows and students work and train in a variety of primary training sites with an impressive list of specialists at major hospitals, health agencies and programs, clinics and physicians’ offices.

With the only Level 1 trauma center between Sacramento and Los Angeles, a regional burn center, acute care hospitals and numerous non-hospital programs, Fresno is the center of health care in Central California. UCSF Fresno faculty physicians and trainees care for about 200,000 patients at clinical partners sites and through affiliated programs each year. Care is provided for a broad spectrum of specialties and conditions ranging from cancer, cardiology and congestive heart failure, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension and neurosurgery to name a few.
