CURRICULUM
The educational aspects of the OB/GYN residency training program contribute to each resident's development of cognitive, procedural and psychological skills. In order to develop expertise in these areas, the OB/GYN program offers several different educational opportunities.
All components of the OB/GYN curriculum employ adult learning principles. This enables the learner to set their own pace, learn what is immediately applicable, receive feedback from others on their progress toward their personal goals and choose their methods and resources. We organize all elements of the curriculum around these principles and residents are exposed to educational concepts on a daily basis.
The components of the OB/GYN curriculum include:
OB/GYN teaching rounds
Faculty presentations
Peer presentations
UCSF Grand Rounds
Evidence-based Medicine forums
OB/GYN case review
Oncology/Pathology Presentations
Morbidity and Mortality conferences
Annual Resident Teaching Skills seminars
Opportunities for extended study, research and/or curriculum development
In addition to the elements of the curriculum, the residency employs an Education Administrator to assist residents with their educational needs.
