The Karnofsky Performance Scale Index http://www.hospicepatients.org/karnofsky.html
Allows patients to be classified as to their functional impairment. This can be used to compare effectiveness of different therapies and to assess the prognosis in individual patients


Palliative Prognostic Index (PPI)
Relies on the assessment of performance status using the Palliative Performance Scale (PPS, oral intake, and the presence or absence of dyspnea, edema, and delirium


ECOG Performance Status
To assess how a patient's disease is progressing, assess how the disease affects the daily living abilities of the patient, and determine appropriate treatment and prognosis


FAST Scale
A functional scale designed to evaluate patients at the more moderate-severe stages of dementia
when the MMSE no longer can reflect changes in a meaningful clinical way
