

The Northern California Geriatric Education Center-Fresno division (GEC-Fresno) is composed of a multi-disciplinary group of faculty who are deeply committed to providing professionals, administrators, and caregivers in the Central Valley with the education, tools, and resources needed to serve its aging population. We are part of a consortium that includes the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF); the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno (UCSF Fresno), the University of California, Berkeley; the Institute on Aging, based in San Francisco; and the Monterey Bay Geriatric Resource Center (MBGRC), a community-based, non-profit consortium in the Monterey Bay region.
The Northern California Geriatric Education Center is funded by the United States Health Resources and Services Administration/Bureau of Health Professions (HRSA/BHPr Grant Number UB4HP19046) to provide interprofessional training for health professionals in the care of older adults. The program is based at the University of California, San Francisco under the direction of Louise Aronson, MD, MFA, and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Geriatrics Division.
Our local objectives include:
1. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate an annual 6 hour evidence-based
2. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a geriatrics continuing education
