Latino Visiting Professorship

The LaCMER HCOE sponsors a series of presentations by invited Latino professors. Presentations target a local audience of healthcare professionals and students, and have been held at University Medical Center, Fresno County Department of Public Health, California State University Fresno, and Sunnyside High School. The aim of these presentations is to:

• Provide updates about current health issues affecting Latino populations to Fresno area health professionals
• Expose Fresno area Latino and other medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty to successful Latino researchers and health professionals from other areas for conversation, exchange of ideas, and exploration of collaborations
• Inspire Latino, and other, health professionals to mentor San Joaquin Valley Latino students to pursue health professional careers in service to Latino populations
• Offer opportunities for networking and collaborations among health professionals with interest in Latino community health

 

Latino Residents Reception

The LaCMER sponsors an annual reception for Latino Physicians in residency training. The reception welcomes Latino residents at UCSF Fresno to the community, and affords residents the opportunity to network with colleagues and faculty at UCSF Fresno, LaCMER, private and public healthcare providers, and with Fresno members of the California Latino Medical Association.
