Welcome to the UCSF Fresno Infectious Diseases Fellowship. Full accreditation was granted by the ACGME for a two year infectious diseases fellowship which will have its inaugural class in July 2008. Our primary training sites are Community Regional Medical Center of Fresno (CRMC), Veterans Administration Central California Healthcare System, the Main UCSF Campus, and Fresno County Health Department. Elective rotations in Children’s Hospital of Central California and Kaiser Permanente hospital are also offered.
Our program includes clinical rotations, protected research blocks, ambulatory care and a broad range of conferences. Our fellows are provided with a rich clinical experience in general infectious diseases, HIV, and STD medicine including infection control and hospital epidemiology, antimicrobial stewardship program and clinical microbiology. UCSF Fresno infectious diseases specialists maintain a busy patient practice and the participating institutions offer the fellows diverse clinical exposure to a wide variety of patients.
The UCSF Fresno Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program admits two highly qualified physicians to its program each year. Our program places equal emphasis on both clinical and research training. Our goal is to produce skilled clinicians, educators and investigators.
We are very excited about our program and look forward to training outstanding infectious disease specialists.
