CONFERENCES

Morning reports and subspecialty/general medicine conferences are conducted at both CRMC and VACCHCS. Medicine Grand Rounds is conducted weekly, mortality conferences monthly and an EKG course each summer. The weekly UCSF Fresno Wednesday Lecture Series hosts faculty from UC San Francisco as speakers in Fresno on various topics. Multi-disciplinary conferences, such as Chest Conference and Tumor Board occur several times a month. Monthly evidence-based medicine journal clubs are held at both hospitals. These conferences are designed to help the resident acquire the skills of evidence-based medicine using current journal articles. Chief’s rounds with Dr. Michael Peterson, focusing on physical diagnostic skills and diagnostic reasoning, occur weekly at both CRMC and VACCHCS. Housestaff are invited to attend UCSF-sponsored continuing medical education programs free of charge.
