About Me: : I enjoy playing cricket, basketball, hiking and biking among others. When am not at the hospital I try to hang with my friends and family. About Me:

I grew up in Southern California before heading up to Norcal for high school and returning to Socal for college.
In my spare time, I'm an avid video gamer and enjoy scuba diving locally in Monterey and Catalina/Channel Islands, and in warmer waters during vacation.

Why UCSF Fresno?

After completing 3 years of training, I truly feel I can practice in any setting. Having the second biggest ER in California you get to see every sort of pathology come through the wards and ICU. We have a well rounded program that tailors to each  individual resident and a unifying goal which is to provide the best care we can for the central valley patients.

Why UCSF Fresno?

I chose the program initially because I wanted to be close, but not too close to home. It also had a good number of fellowships and the residents seemed to be pretty happy. I also welcomed the chance to be part of an academic affiliated institution while getting to know what it would be like to be a complete community physician. The pathology here is second to none in an environment that fosters growth and autonomy.

About Me: I am motivated and self driven. I work hard and play fair. My strength is my willingness to learn and to improve constantly. I enjoy travelling, photography, painting and the company of friends and like minded people! About Me: I am an avid sports fan and LOVE college football--especially my IRISH! I am engaged, recently bought a home in Fresno and I am about to hike Half-Dome for the first time. I love both the beach and the mountains and Fresno is reasonably close to both which is nice.
Why UCSF Fresno? Apart from the obvious academic merits of the program, what brings and keeps people at UCSF Fresno is the inherent warmth of the people here. UCSF Fresno is an extremely resident friendly and resident centric program where new ideas are encouraged and implemented. Why UCSF Fresno? It is a university program with the feeling of community.  I did a sub-I here and I was instantly attracted to the feeling at this program of comradely.  The residents are down-to-earth, genuine people I could really imagine myself working with daily.  Also I was unsure if I wanted to pursue a fellowship and the fellowship opportunities and match success rate at this program are great. .

About Me: I spend my free time training my dogs and tending to my sheep farm in Northern California. Also I am an avid gardener and love cooking with herbs grown from my own garden.  Currently, I am working on perfecting my medical Spanish and Farsi. About Me: I grew up in Fresno, went to Clovis West High School and graduated to from Fresno State with a BS in Nursing. For four years, I worked as a night shift Registered Nurse for the VA here in town while going to school during the day to get my medical school prerequisites. I have two dogs, Casper and Yogi. They are very special to me and my family. I live in Chowchilla, a small town about 40 miles north of Fresno. During the weekends, I love to row my small boat with my dogs on board or play tennis with my brother! I also like to visit our nation's National Parks.
Why UCSF Fresno? While choosing a residency program is a difficult choice for many doctors to be, I felt most at home at UCSF Fresno. One of the greatest contributing factors is our program director, who is one of the most inspirational people I have had the pleasure of meeting. As are the majority of our faculty members who are all approachable and find every opportunity for education. During my fourth year of medical school, I was fortunate to rotate in a number of hospitals and UCSF Fresno gave me exposure to the most pathophysiology and cultural diversity with a balance of hard work and learning that I felt confident would make me an excellent physician. Why UCSF Fresno? As a fourth year medical student, I completed three rotations at UCSF Fresno, all in Internal Medicine. I was very impressed with the faculty and the residents I met. Moreover, I knew that the facilities offer the same resources to their residents and patients as other programs in major metropolitan areas of our country. After having been invited to interview in 19 Categorical Internal Medicine programs in California, UCSF Fresno was number 1 in my rank order list! I am very happy to be here and invite you to join us!

About Me: I have spent most of my life in central California, growing up in the Sierra Nevada foothills.  However, I have also been fortunate enough to have lived in Manhattan, Philadelphia, London and Paris.  I have a great interest in cardiology and will be applying for fellowship in 2011.  I eventually would like to specialize in preventative cardiology or advanced heart failure and transplant.  In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my family, playing guitar, video games and oil painting.  I am looking forward to serving as a chief resident for the 2011/2012 academic year. About Me: I like the outdoors, but will tolerate the indoors if it means getting to learn in a cool place like UCSF Fresno! About Me: For me medicine is a second career after spending 12 years as a paramedic working on ambulances, in emergency rooms, and at the fire department.  I am a work hard play hard kind of person.  With both the Sierra-Nevada mountains & Pacific ocean near-by, Fresno is a perfect location for me to continue to pursue my interests outside of medicine.  When not working I enjoy travel, reading, cycling, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and fly-fishing. I have climbed multiple mountain peaks over 14,000 feet and have completed both an ironman distance triathlon and marathons.  I have been happily married for 13 years to my college sweet heart and together we continue to explore and enjoy all that California has to offer
Why UCSF Fresno? I really feel strongly that UCSF Fresno provides a unique opportunity to learn in a setting that has the strengths of both a community and academic program.  There are numerous opportunities for research, exposure to subspecialties, fellowship opportunities and access to cutting edge technology all in a nearly unopposed setting that stresses the importance of education over service.  Also the Central Valley offers amazing opportunities for outdoor recreational pursuits; whether it be climbing Half Dome in Yosemite or waterskiing on Shaver Lake there is always something to do. Why UCSF Fresno? Top notch academics, abounding fellowship opportunities, surrounded by national parks/beaches (though they are about 1.5 hours away), a program that cares about residents, and great peers. Why UCSF Fresno? I was lucky enough to rotate here as a medical student and was very impressed with the faculty which was very friendly, helpful, and interested in teaching. I was also impressed with the pathology we see here in Fresno. You only get to be a resident for three years and after that time you are expected to know quite a bit and have experience treating a large variety of diseases. I thought UCSF Fresno would offer me the opportunity to learn and gain that valuable experience I was looking for. So far I have not been disappointed!

Why UCSF Fresno? It’s a big family, great academic institution where you can combine the best clinical training with great research opportunities.  Here your education is the priority of the faculty, senior residents and chief residents. Fresno is a great city located just few miles away from Yosemite Valley, Mount Whitney, Sequoias, San Francisco and LA. Overall it is the best experience in my life! Why UCSF Fresno? The UCSF Fresno Residency has a friendly environment and an emphasis on learning.  It is also a growing program with many opportunities for research, fellowships, and training abroad.  Fresno's central location allows  easy access to many of California's notable attractions ie: yosemite, beaches, and cities like LA and SF.  Why UCSF Fresno? Location, close to home but far enough away to separate me from distractions (family).  Love the family environment as well as the diverse and interesting pathology seen in our patient population.
