CONFERENCES
ANNUAL CORE LECTURES
At the start of each academic year, a series of essential lectures are conducted by the faculty and visiting experts that encompass a spectrum of cardiology topics. These are designed to assist the new fellows in achieving the basic theoretical competencies that are expected of a subspecialty trainee, as well as to reinforce the current fellows’ understanding of such concepts.
WEEKLY CONFERENCES
Throughout the year, formal didactic sessions are conducted on a daily basis from 7:30 – 8:30 AM. The core faculty members are required to attend, ensuring a high quality academic learning experience for the fellows. These conferences frequently well attended by the private cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and sometimes Medicine attendings. In addition to the morning sessions, noon Cardiology Grand Rounds are also conducted weekly, where national and international experts in the field of cardiovascular disease are invited to speak.
MONTHLY/QUARTERLY CONFERENCES
Monthly and quarterly sessions are conducted in a formal highly didactic approach.
NATIONAL MEETINGS
Fellows are encouraged to attend at least one national scientific session either the American Heart Association or the American College of Cardiology each year. Fellows also present their abstracts at these national meetings. Those interested in further subspecialty training may also attend the annual sessions of the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics or the Heart Rhythm Society.
