
EDUCATION IN LEGAL MEDICINE (ELM)
UCSF Fresno has partnered with ELM Exchange, Inc., the leading provider of online healthcare risk management and patient safety education programs and resources, to offer access to the highest quality risk management continuing education courses. This convenient online program is proven to help create a culture of enhanced patient safety and increases quality of care. These courses feature:
All Residents and Fellows are required to successfully complete several online courses, which include the Informed Consent IV (Pediatric residents complete Minor Consent), the Supervision of Residents and Assistants I course, the Scope of Practice course, the Transitions of Care I course and the Physician Impairment course. In addition, your program may have courses that they require you to complete.
Each takes less than an hour, includes a pre-test, goals & objectives, an overview of principles, several case studies and a post-test. Courses can be stopped and restarted as needed.
1) Go to http://ucfresno.elmexchange.com
2) If you are a New User, select your Facility or Group from the drop down list and fill out the short form.
(If you have already registered, enter your Username and Password under the title Returning Users to sign in.)
3) Once login has been completed, you will be greeted by a Welcome page and guided to your courses

4) After you’ve finished your test and before logging off, you must take the brief post-course survey. Once it’s completed you will be returned to the original Course Units page showing your score(s). (Faculty: If you want a CME certificate, click the adjacent link and print it out.)
