Council of Residency Directors (CORD) Resident Academic Achievement Award

Dr. Timothy Platts-Mills, one of our chief residents received the coveted CORD resident academic achievement award for 2007. This award, given to one EM resident, is intended to recognize an individual who has demonstrated much promise as a future academic faculty member. Tim is a wonderful teacher and clinician. In addition to numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters, Tim will be the editor for the textbook “First Aid for the Emergency Medicine Boards”.  He is a reviewer for Annals of Emergency Medicine and was recognized as a top 50 reviewer for 2006.   Tim has accepted a faculty position at the University of North Carolina.  Great work Tim!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Gene Kallsen has been selected by the Community Foundation as one of the
"Ultimate People" of 2009.  He received his award at a recent gala event (i.e. lots of great, free food, drinks, and music).  Congrats to our Chief!

Congratulations to Dr. Kenny Banh, who just received the highly coveted UCSF Distinction in Teaching Award from the Academic Senate for 2011.  Kenny was recognized for his ongoing contributions to the university in teaching medical students and residents, and he was selected from numerous applicants throughout UCSF--great work!
