1. Discuss the latest research on the causes of autism and effective interventions
2. Describe the wide range of symptoms, skills, and levels of disability in functioning that can occur in people with autism, and how these evolve throughout the lifespan
3. Explain how the diagnosis of autism is made
4. Describe the evolution of ABA therapy and its current role in patients with autism
5. Make appropriate and timely referrals for diagnosis and interventions for patients with autism and other related conditions
6. Identify local resources that support individuals with autism and their families
